This Behavior Chart was designed to provide lesson sequences that address the root of complex student behaviors and can be used in small groups (Tier 2) or in one-on-one settings (Tier 3). Linked to the chart are sequenced Open Parachute lessons that target each specific issue, organized by grade band (K-3; 4-6). We can also create tailored versions of these lesson sequences to fit the needs of your school/district. Please reach out if you are interested in exploring this option!
How to Use the Behavior Chart
In the Behavior Chart, you will find steps that help you and your team make decisions about the most effective interventions to help your students. These steps are:
Step 1: Find the observed student behavior in the chart.
Step 2: Implement the set of lessons within the topic associated with that observed behavior.
Step 3: If student behavior persists, run the set of lessons within the next topic in the flow chart.
Step 4: Keep going along the flow chart by running each set of lessons until the student’s challenges are resolved, even if it means circling back through the topics they have already completed.
This is designed to make it easy for your school to address complex issues in students in a consistent & effective manner.
