The following is a list of technical requirements and information to ensure that Open Parachute is accessible by teachers using computers connected to your school's internet.

Open Parachute Platform Access
Open Parachute is a Web Application, accessed via a web browser. We require teachers to use Google Chrome* for optimal results.
Teachers are invited to register an Open Parachute account via email invitation, and are directed to a web page to complete registration. Our emails are DMARC compliant and have anti-spoofing validation. All emails are sent from: [email protected]
Open Parachute lessons contain videos that are hosted on our Servers, and PDF content that is hosted on AWS servers.
*Please note, older versions of Chrome may not be compatible.
Are There Any Software or Plugins Required To Be Installed Locally?
No. Open Parachute is a Web Application.
Do Students Access the Platform?
No, only educators log in to Open Parachute.
Does Open Parachute Require Rostering Integration?
No.
What Hardware is Required for Open Parachute?
A computer with Google Chrome* and an external monitor with speakers for students to view the content/videos together as a class (e.g., a TV, or Projector).
*Please note, Google Chrome must be up to date, as older versions may not be compatible.
Are There Any Resources Available to Download?
PDF notes for both teachers and students are provided to accompany each lesson. These documents are available via the Platform and it is recommended that they are downloaded locally and printed out.
Does Open Parachute Use Adobe Flash or HTML5?
Open Parachute uses HTML5. We do not use Flash.
Does Open Parachute Use Encryption?
Open Parachute is served 100% over encrypted HTTPS traffic.
All connections are performed strictly under HTTPS protocol on all channels (transport layer security). Our application scores an “A” rating on Qualys SSL Labs‘ tests.
What Is Open Parachute's Vulnerability Scanning & Protection Protocol?
Open Parachute's Development Team employs secure coding techniques and best practices, including the OWASP Top Ten. As part of our development process, Open Parachute uses third-party security tools to continuously scan our code for vulnerabilities.
